Story
From the limestone-rich Robertson Valley, Paul René is a boutique, family-run Cap Classique house crafting traditional-method sparkling wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With extended lees ageing and meticulous care, this Brut Rosé shows precision, finesse, and bright mineral character. A Gold medal winner at the Michelangelo Awards, it stands out as a refined, high-quality MCC.
Tasting Notes
A delicate, pale blush in the glass, this Brut Rosé opens with fine, lifted aromatics—subtle spice, freshness, and a hint of white pepper. The palate is poised and energetic, revealing layers of strawberry and cherry that unfold, carried by vibrant acidity and a fine, persistent mousse. The finish is elegant and composed, with a lingering sense of refinement.
Winemaker’s Note
Produced from 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, the grapes were hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed at low recovery to retain finesse. Primary fermentation took place in stainless steel at cool temperatures, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine matured on the lees for a minimum of 44 months before manual riddling and disgorgement, enhancing both texture and complexity.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside fresh oysters, salmon gravlax, or berry-driven salads. Also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses or light canapés, where its freshness and fine structure can shine.
